Biography

New Shields is an Indie/Power-Pop/Punk band from West Chester PA that formed in June 2011. The band consists of members Keinan Fry (Vocals, Guitar, Synth), Joey Leonard (Drums), Nick Lewis (Bass, Guitar, Keys, Vocals) and Nate Risley (Guitar, Vocals.)

After their previous projects disbanded, Keinan, Joey and Nate began rehearsing in June of 2011. By the fall of that year, the band had assembled the track list for their debut E.P. Hint, Hint. They began recording in September with Jeremy Simon at Viking Camel Studio in Pottstown, PA. During recording, the band debated several names before deciding on New Shields, a take on the song "Young Shields" by Casiotones for the Painfully Alone. New Shields debuted live on October 20th as the opening act for the Boston Indie-Pop band The Hush Now at the Raven Lounge in Philadelphia.

Hint, Hint was released on January 20th 2012 to Facebook, Bandcamp and several other music websites. Nick Lewis joined the band shortly thereafter to round out the roster.

On January 27th, Hint, Hint was featured on Absolute Punk's Free Music Friday.
